Winter in the Canadian Rockies is a magical time of year. In addition to the great ski resorts, travelers can take advantage of world-class cross-country ski trails, try their luck at ice fishing in a weatherized hut, skate on frozen mountain lakes, take in the sights by the power of horses, dogs or machine, explore expansive ice caverns or even climb walls of ice.
