Snowmobiling in the Canadian Rockies
The Canadian Rockies offers excellent snowmobiling adventures through pristine trails and deep powder basins in a majestic setting. Most winter tourism has been focused on skiing over the years but the growing popularity of snowmobiling is beginning to make its mark. While snowmobiling is generally not permitted within the National Parks, the Columbia Valley area in the BC Rockies features some of the most spectacular riding found anywhere. With a plethora of snow-covered logging roads leading into high country drainages, the valley offers hundreds of kilometres of trails coupled with dozens of ice fishing lakes and remote cabins that make it a snowmobile haven for everyone from beginners to expert riders.
One of the best ways to experience this exciting winter activity is with an established touring company that will take you to the best accessible locations and furnish all the equipment required to make your trip special. With tours originating from Canmore, Banff, Lake Louise, Golden, Kimberley, Fernie, and all locations in the central Columbia Valley, you are never far away from an exceptional Canadian Rockies snowmobile adventure.
