Ski Resort Overview

Lake Louise is unquestionably one of the world’s great ski resorts. A forty-five minute drive from Banff, Lake Louise is one of only a handful of North America ski resorts that hosts a World Cup Skiing event annually, due largely to its impressive vertical rise of 3250 feet (991 meters) and 4200 acres (1700 hectares) of consistently white terrain.

Both the terrain and lift system at Lake Louise are unsurpassed. The area is spread over four faces of three distinct mountains, and lifts and lodges are designed according to the European "ski circus" concept of going “somewhere” as you ski. The ski experience is thus one of constant discovery of new delights, and best of all, because there is at least one easy way down from every chair, the entire ski complex is available to skiers of all abilities.

Lake Louise's Continental Divide climate eliminates most of the risks that can sabotage a ski holiday, providing consistent temperatures and an ample supply of dry, fluffy powder. Mid-winter "meltdowns" are not a concern, and the ski season lasts a full six months, from early November to early May. The sunniest south facing slopes are supplemented by one of the world's largest snow-making systems, and Mother Nature handles the rest - lavishly. When it is snowing, visibility remains good on the plentiful below tree-line terrain.
